C&J Graphics, Inc. History

Looking back onto a small garage in East Baltimore on a September morning in 1978, armed only with an idea, a dream, and one small Kluge Press. C&J Graphics, Inc. began production of its inaugural run. Produced under the watchful eye of its sole owner and operator, James Snyder Jr.

In the ensuing twenty eight years, C&J Graphics, Inc. would fulfill the small business owner's dream by repeatable growing in leaps and bounds, building a client base stretching beyond the boundaries of Baltimore, Maryland by satisfying customers located all across the United States and Canada. Constantly reshaping itself to grow from that one Kluge Press to include, as of the new Millennium. We use Ten Bobst Stamping-Embossing-Die Cutting presses, including the countries first BMH102 Holographic Foil Bobst; 3 High Speed Gluers; 2 Custom Gluers for small runs; State of the art new Steinemann Coater; Two Guillotine Cutters; Two Sakurai Coaters plus a GBC High Speed Film Laminator; on-site Steel Rule Die and Copper Etching departments; a fully loaded Handwork Department utilizing various mounters, taping, and shrink wrapping machines to ensure proper packaging of the finished product; as well as our own small fleet of Pick-up and Delivery vehicles to get your job and back to you on schedule.

Brief Highlights in History:

1978- C&J Graphics, Inc. (nee C&J Stamping & Embossing) runs its first job

Early 80's- C&J Graphics, Inc. adds four kluges and three millers to its equipment base, along with it's first auto gluer, and in-house steel rule die making.

1984- C&J Graphics, Inc. launched the first ever "Hologram" foil-run for the National Geographic magazine. C&J Graphics, Inc. moves to its new home with the addition of its first Bobst 102BMA Stamping/ Embossing/ Die Cutting press.

1985 to 1990- C&J Graphics, Inc. expands its operations with its equipment base with such as; Bobst SP102 (86); Bobst Domino Auto Gluer (87); its first Sakurai UV/ Silk Screen press (90); as well as the countries first BMH102 Bobst Holographic Foil press

1991 to 1995- C&J Graphics, Inc. adds to its equipment list, its fifth Auto-Gluer and the Bobst Media. Also along with adding more High Speed Bobst presses, including the Bobst BMA126 36x49 Stamper/ Die cutter.

1996 to 2000- C&J Graphics, Inc. adds the new High Speed GBC Film Laminator, as well as incorporating in-house production of Copper Etched Dies.

2001 and Beyond- C&J Graphics, Inc. continues to grow to meet its customers needs with the future addition of the Bobst High Speed Stampers and Die Cutters, as well as the advancement of an in-house Laser CAD/ CAM system with sample making capabilities to further increase our assistance for our customers.

2006-C&J Graphics, Inc. installed a high speed Steinemann UV coater- with a minimum sheet size of 13 x 20- maximum sheet size of 28 x 40- spot or flood UV- 50# offset to 30pt. board. The Steinemann is able to do glitter UV, scents, raised UV, and other creative applications.
